Terry Cox-Joseph is an artist, trained in illustration, who has lived in Newport News since 1987. She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Terry divides her time between painting watercolors, acrylics, and trompe l’oeil tiles, as well as wall murals. Her work appears on greeting cards, book covers, and websites. Among her influences are Maxfield Parrish, Walt Disney, Diana Thorne, and N.C. Wyeth. She graduated from Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a concentration in illustration and graphic design. She derives inspiration from her family, her pets, and her three acres, where she lives on a creek near the James River. If she doesn't have a dog at her heels and chocolate in her pocket, make sure that she is okay.
